More about this scene

As can be seen from this photograph, this was a popular spot to sit and relax on a sunny summer's day. The Princes Gardens had been the site of the first temporary military encampment in November 1853 when a detachment of Royal Engineers began assessing the locality's suitability for the establishment of a permanent military base.

I attended Talavera Prinary School between 1964 - 1965 aged 10-11. Anybody else attend during these dates?
