The Bird Cage Club (den of Iniquity)
I am interested in anyone having memories of the Bird Cage Club in Alnwick. I ran the club in partnership with Stuart Manly (now owner of Barter Books in Alnwick). I would be interested if you have any photographs taken inside the club. I only have two photographs. I would be interested to know if you saw any bands, singers, attended any interesting nights etc etc.
Regards, Peter Mc Dermott

Pete,
I thought you were dead! Do you remember when Polanski had a party after making 'Macbeth'? Whatever happened to 'Ding' and that old soak Tony?

Hi Pete. Still grooving, eh? As a young reporter on the Gazette I wrote about jazz greats like Don Rendell appearing at the Birdcage. Saw bands from USA to locals Plynth (Bopper Elliott on drums). Met lots of students from the College. Ex-girlfriend Marie worked the bar sometimes. How did you get in the shed with the dog? I've forgotten its name! What lurks in that cellar today? The shed is long gone. Heady days of the early Seventies!
