Friends Reunited

Lord Mayor Treloar Hospital, Nurses Home c1955

I was in hospital for two and a half years, I made lots of friends there. There were three girls I remember, one was Pat Davis, she had TB just like me, Susan Burgess was another and Evonne la Page was the other one. If anyone knows anything about them I would love to know. My surname was Braybrook  and like I said I was in hospital around 1955-1956, not quite sure of the exact date.

RE: RE: Friends Reunited

Hi I was in Alton in 1955, Sister Smith was the ward sister, after a while I was moved to the Hayling Island Hospital, I was there for seven months. TB of the ankle was my trouble, but thankfully Streptomycin got me fit again, I returned to Alton Hospital and was discharged after about six weeks. Memories have stayed with me all my life, mainly because of the Victorian manner in which it was run. I returned to Alton just before the last Ward was demolished, and stood where my bed was all those years ago, part of the old fireplace had been exposed and it sent a shiver down my back seeing it again after all these years.
