Kirkhead Tower c1965
The folly of Kirkhead Tower stands on a
headland overlooking the small coastal
village of Allithwaite, which takes its
name from a Norse settler named Eilifr.
To the south lies Humphrey Head, which
according to legend was the place where
the last wolf in England was killed.
