More about this scene

Situated in the shadow of the grand church of St Helen's, the castle, now in the care of English Heritage, originated as a Norman manor house; it ultimately become the property of the Breton La Zouch family in the mid 12th century. Probably the castle's most famous, or infamous, owner was William Lord Hastings, who was beheaded by King Richard III in 1483.
