I was born in 1950 and lived the first twenty years of my life in Acklam Road, off the Portobello Road, North Kensington. Although a deprived area, we were always happy and never ill. I was a boarder at WGS from 1957 to 1964 and it doesn't live in my mind as the happiest place in the world - but there were plenty of girls who did love it, I remember.
