I remember two shops in King Street. This would be 1950's. One was on the same side as the clinic (that was Mrs Lang's) - and the other was across the road on the corner. Mrs Lang used to make penny ice lollies I remember. The rest of King Sreet is a bit hazy, but everybody had to go to the clinic at some point for eye tests or to have a cuts or grazes looked at. Does anyone remember being sent there alone from school and getting eye drops in and having to find your way back to school?
