Sundays

A Memory of Ayr.

My memories are so many good times, I lived at the ice Rink on Beresford Terrace I skated there almost everyday. I would get so perturbed when the curling would start because they cut our skate space to quarter ice. Sunday was the day when after church we would walk the High Street looking in the shop windows "window shopping" You didn't need any money to window shop and the windows were all so nice. Up one side and down the other and stopping at the Modern Cafe for a Russian tea or coffee depending on how cold it was. Summer or Winter, rain or shine life was easier then nothing was open on Sundays except the café's.
Summers we would be at the shore, towel under your arm and away you went, packed at the Glasgow Fair and Paisley fortnight. Ayr was a favourite holiday resort in those days, Happy happy memories, could write a book.
