Barlborough Hall

I have been told that my Great Uncle or Great-great uncle worked as head gardener at the Hall in the 1800s.  They were both called Robert Holdgate so I am not sure which uncle it was.

RE: RE: Barlborough Hall

Do you have any dates of Roberts birth? Barlborough has just set up a Heritage Room and we are doing an in depth study of Barlborough Hall so we may be able to help.

RE: RE: Barlborough Hall

I am not sure which of the Robert Holdgates it was and I don't have birthdates. All I know is that one was born in 1840 and the other circa 1806.

RE: RE: Barlborough Hall

Robert Holdgate was born in 1840 Chapel en le Frith.

The other Robert Holdgate was born in 1804 Chapel en le Frith - Babtised on 13 May 1804. I have many more records of various Holdgate's dating back to 1739.

Hope this helps.
