RE: RE: Poggy Post Office
I was born there in 1946. The post office was in the front room and seven of us lived in the kitchen! Me Mam cooked on one gas ring and a coal fired oven. Also sharing the kitchen were a canary, Skipper the dog (who bit anybody but us), Smasher the cat, Gerty the goose and two chickens, although the three birds did sleep in a hut at the top of the yard.
