I lived in Barnt Green from 1940 to 1961.i attended Woodruffe School, and have many happy memories of miss Matthews and Miss Woodruffe,
My grandmother worked for Dr Blair, Barnt Green in the early 1940's. She returned to North Wales and stayed in touch with the family for a long period. Does anyone know the whereabouts of where Dr Blair lived, or any information about the area during the 1940's? Thanks, Kristy.
I lived in Barnt Green from 1941 to 1961. I attended a tiny school held in the headmistress's back garden - a long shed like building! It was an excellent school, and I left there to attend Bromsgrove High School. Does anyone out there remember a little girl called Tyers? Or a head mistress - Miss Woodruffe and her assistant Miss Matthews?
