1930s Grant Road And Also Plough Road School

A Memory of Battersea.

Hi, My beloved Dad who sadly passed away in the Summer was born in Grant Road .He I also lived in Harbut Road and Lyford Road .His home in Harbut Road and Lyford Road are still there .He attended Plough Road School in the mid 1930s .Over the past couple of years I've been helping him look into his early years in London .He remembered so much of it and was proud of living there. He would tell me stories of waving to the train drivers from his bedroom window when he was about 3 years old, their home being right on Clapham Junction .Also his days at Plough Road School and his cousin working in The Granada .My Dads family moved to Hampshire during the war but right up until my Dads passing he would talk with me about early life in Battersea.Im continuing my research into the family and life in Battersea .It is very interesting reading about other people's memories of Battersea.

My Dad ,Norman Hunt lived there with his family Jack Hunt(his Dad) and Dorothy Hunt (nee Owen) his Mum .

I was born in Harbut Road, went to school at High view on Plough Road, used to go to the Granada for Saturday Morning Pictures, just happy days.
