Batersea County Shol

A Memory of Battersea.

Hi

I went to Battersea county school in culvert road from 1969 - 1975 I was in Tower house I have been on facebook but cannot seem to locate many people from that time..

My maiden name was Jenner and I knew some really nice people.

I lived in culvert rd in a massionette above the shops.

I used to go to the youth club at Battersea county school with friends who lived in the flats opposite my block lynn, debbie and ann.

I the used to go to
rollo court on a Friday where every other week was a disco.

On a Saturday I worked in Adele hairdressers.

A lot of years have gone by and I now live in kent but I will always be a Londoner at heart one day I will go back to Battersea probably with my grandson and show him where I came from and what momentous things happened back in the day.

I used to go to Battersea high st for pie mash on a Saturday and sometimes in school lunchtime if I had the money. I also used to go Saturday morning pictures at the Granada.

I also worked in Walters on a Saturday before I left school.

I used to drink in the Battersea Fair, The Eagle, The queen Victoria, British flag and the cricketers even though I was very young.

My first proper date was when I was taken to the cricketers and I had too much to drink and I was so sick when I got home but I did not tell my date I was so nervous and thought I was grown up but I was only a kid.

In the summer time I used to go to the jungle in Battersea park and to the fair when it was open also every year we used to go to the easter parade.

I used to go swimming in the Latchmere baths a lot as well.

Sadly I have lost contact with my family due to petty sqabbles something I regret but cannot undo.

I also went to Falconbroook and Chesterton schools before attending batters county.

If anybody knew me it would be lovely to hear from you I am also on Facebook though only just started so have not quite got the hang of it as I have already accidently deleted off people who wanted to be friends and I cannot seem to get them back as I have tried.

Hopefully speak to somebody soon

Lesley

Hello. I'd like to ask if anyone can remember Angelo Parisi who went to Battersea County School between about 1964 and 1968. His family had an ice cream business. Angelo went on to win an Olympic Gold Medal in Moscow in 1980.
I'm trying to track down Donna Mullane who appeared opposite Peter Sellers in the 1973 classic The Optimists of 9 Elms. Her real name was Veronica and she had three brothers (Colin, Andrew, and Timmy). She had two young daughters around 1986. She attended John Milton and later Battersea County. I recently had a book published about the actor Guy Standeven (Who's That Guy? The Sometimes 'Knightmare' Life of an Unknown Actor) who was also in The Optimists. I'd still love to speak with her. My public email address is marcusheslop@mail.com

Hello, I know some off the names mentioned in these recent posts, I played in a football team with Timmy Mullane in the late seventies. And did Anthony Yardley, have a younger sister called Beverly? I was also in the same class as Mark dumbar, what happened to him? I was in county house from 1971-1976, I still live in Clapham, I feel like I'm the only one still in the area from those battersea County days. I would like to know what happened to some off my old class mates like Dave drinkwater, Donald Barlow, and some off the girls like Jane toop and Tracy West, I also knew Jeff Hewitt, who was in Tower House. I also remember running the 800 metres on sports day at Battersea Park track, I was running against Roger Feltham, Martin Jones and George Carter Allen, great memories. I hope some off you are still around, would be great to hear from some off you, Keith Lavender
