A NIGHT OUT AT THE THEATRE.

I met a lovely lady from Baughton Lane while living in central London, the lady's name was at the time Miss Delphine Sherriff. She told where she lived and I have been around your most beautiful landscape. After meeting the lady I went backpacking around Europe for 5 years and lost touch. Whilst living in London we went to see '42nd Street' it Drury Lane. She told me how beautiful Baughton was and I have to agree with her as I now paint and draw there and I took my inspiration from Delphine as I have visited over 60 countries around the world and I found nothing to compare with your local scenery, I have to say thank-you. And I would like to meet up with Miss Sheriff again and thank her, she was the 'Lady in Red' that was no 1 at the time.

Worcestershire memories

Simmonds Hanley Castle

I am researching the Simmonds family who lived in Quay Lane in Hanley Castle about 1900. My father recalls the floods of the early 1900s when Quay Lane flooded and he was trapped up stairs with his mother, Alice Simmonds.

Does any one out there have any information on the Simmonds family as I have a lot of there history to share.

Home of The Good Shepherd

I'm writing on behalf of my husband Ronald Jones. He was in The Home of the Good Shepherd, Hanley Swan, Worcestshire. He was there from approx. 1937 to 1943, when he was 11. Has anyone any memories of this time? Would be grateful for any information.

Our grandparents live in Chipping Campden. When we lived in Worcester we would drive through Pershore on the way there. As a young child I used to acknowledge the little flags which were hung on string in between the buildings on either side of the high street.
