My Happy Years
I attended Brownrigg from 1980 - 1985. I look back on those years with great joy (all though not at the time), throughs long summers and endless winters. I made a great many friends. I sometimes wish I could turn the clock back. I especially remember the teachers and staff, Mr Walton (headmaster), crazy man, Mr Bell (minty), hard but fair, Mr Main the next headmaster, Mr Barker music teacher), and my old foe Mr Jameson (maths teacher), always catching me having a smoke. As for the staff there was Harry and Hilary (caretakers), Sandra in the kitchen, and my old mate Roy (sparrow ) Desmond who has sadly passed away. I will look back on those years with great fondness. I have many happy memories to look back on, far too many to mention. People who read this may not recognize my name but they may remember my nickname (CHIPPY), regards, Michael Imrie.

RE: RE: My Happy Years
I attended Brownrigg boarding school from 1979 to 1984. I have happy memories, such as the heated swimming pool (dive straight in our you wouldn't get in!). If anyone remembers me from those years I would love to hear from you. Can anyone remember having to go into the shops two at a time?

RE: RE: My Happy Years
I went to Brownrigg from1979-1984. When I arrived I was so little I couldn't even carry my suitcases so I dragged them, it took ages. Then when I saw the wooden huts I could have got back on the bus! I remember the mangle and the big sinks to wash your clothes in, the big drier and small dryer where you hung your clothes out , it is all coming back. I loved it when the wind would get up and the shutters used to bang at the windows, then you would hear a small voice saying i"I anyone awake?" then you would be off to the little dryer to natter until you were too tired to worry about things going bump in the night, lol. I loved it and have always regretted not going to the reunions.
