This pic was taken from Tunnel Terrace looking over the old iron bridge coming from The Tunnel Hotel. The building closest after the slag heap is the old Police station with the Bandroom next door to it. My Grandmother and Grandfather Loveday lived in number 5 Tunnel Tce. Sadly no longer there.

RE: RE: Home Base

I remember Tunnel Terrace so well because it led to Gwynfi Street, where we lived at No. 68 until I was 16 years old when we moved down the valley to Croeserw. My Dad, Roy Pinkham, my Mam Vi Pinkham, my brother Gerald and me, Christine.
My Grandmother, Rose Robinson who sadly died in November 1961 also lived with us.
My Uncle Alf and his wife Elsie, Mam's brother, also lived in Gwynfi Street. His children Vic, Jean, Wendy and Kevin who are all married now still live in the village.
It was a wonderfully happy and safe childhood being brought up in the lovely village of Blaengwynfi.
