Borehamwood Shops
This picture is of the shops in Leeming Road and not the main shopping centre in Borehamwood, fondly known as the village. Leeming Road shops are in fact about a mile away from the main town. I would love to see any photos of the "village" if anyone has any.

RE: RE: Borehamwood Shops
I was born in the village of Borehamwood in 1944, I went to Furzhill, Summerswood and Hillside schools, my mother and father Molly and Albert Simons owned Molly's Cafe, it used to be open all night during the war, after the war it remained a cafe for the workers in the area including all the new factories and the film studios. It became a popular meeting place for the teenagers in the late fifties, they and myself included used to meet up before going to the local youth club which used to be in the grounds of the Clarendon road playing field, this backed on to the then Rock studio, or if there was a dance on at the church hall we were really lucky. We then used to return to the cafe for a cup of coffee and a song on the juke box, we would do this and be home by 10.30pm, no late nights for us. If anyone has any photos of Molly's Cafe I would love to see them. June Williams
