Growing up
I was actually born in Borehamwood in the family house in Kimbolton Green. As I grew up I went to Monksmead, Summerhill then Hillside School. I remember playing up the oak trees, which are now flats, near the Bull and Tiger and also scratch woods. It was a lovely place to grow up in and felt like the country. It's changed so much but then again I am 53!!

RE: RE: Growing up
I too grew up in Boreham Wood first living in Grantham Green 1952 to 1959 and going to Monksmead Infant School in 1957. We had a teacher called Miss Freeman in the first year and a Mrs Counsell in the second, the headmistress was a Miss Hooper. I then at the age of 7 went to Summerswood, the teacher in my first year was a Miss Billon and the headmaster a Mr Jepps. I was not there long as we moved to Theobald Street where I went to Brookfield until I was 11, the headmaster was a Mr Adams (who once gave me the cane for playing in the bike shed, I was 8 at the time) then in 1963 went to Lyndhurst until 1968. I moved away from Boreham Wood in 1977 and my parents and other family members moved away in 1984 so I have not been back since. I expect it has changed!
