I remember moving to Bovingdon in 1965, we lived in Austin's Mead (they were the houses for the R.A.F. families). My name was Andrea Jackson then, I was about 7 yrs old. The local doctor was Dr. Anderson. At the bottom of Austin's Mead there was an old forge.

RE: RE: Austin's Mead

I lived in Bovingdon from about the age of three-four until I was fifteen. I also remember Dr. Anderson, the Doctor and I also have very fond memories of the vicar Mr Mollinoe (I'm not sure if this is the correct spelling). I will also never forget my teacher Mrs Harwood at the infants school. Summer walks in the over-grown abandoned American airbase were really spooky too.
Last but certainly not least I have vivid images of the bright orange double decker bus (Gilbert's) which took me to Bourne Valley school from the age of 11-15.
