More about this scene

This is a quiet residential road in a village of fine buildings. The most impressive is probably Brasted Place, built by Robert?Adam in local stone for the court physician of George III, John Turton, for services rendered. Brasted Place was the seat iof the Tipping family, and once the retreat of the ousted monarch Louis Napoleon, who could be seen walking the streets with his tame eagle.
