More about this scene

Spanning the River Parrett, Bridgwater's present Town Bridge was built in 1883, on the site of earlier bridges. Downstream were the docks that at the time handled thousands of ships each year. The river walls have since been raised to prevent flooding.

Sparked a Memory for you?

If this has sparked a memory, why not share it here?

We spent many a happy holiday in the Bridgwater area, sometimes staying on a farm just outside Bridgwater and in later years in a flat in the holiday village in nearby Burnham on Sea. Many wonderful memories of my dead parents and dogs!
