Brockley Hall

I believe that my great grandfather Robert Landeman Jones owned Brockley Hall but I am unsure of the date, I am guessing it was the 1870s.  I think that he later moved to Weston-super-Mare.  My brother and I have a photo of the old house.  I also have a diary that my great grandfather kept for the years 1896 and 1905 which has fascinating detail about  his accounts.

RE: RE: Brockley Hall

Presumably you have checked out Landeman Circus/Path in Weston.
I have an interest in Brockley Hall, but earlier, circa 1800.

In registers at Nailsea Library your grandfather was listed as the estate manager. You might be interested in seeing this listing as it may give you more information

RE: RE: Brockley Hall

Brockley Hall and its considerable estate belonged to my father's family; the Smyth Pigott's (infact it was where my father was born). The Manor, part belonged to the de Ashton family from the 12th/13th century - it then came to the Berkeley's around 1528. It was subsequently bought from Richard Harvey by Col. Thomas Pigott who married Florence, widow of Thomas Smyth esq. of Long Ashton and daughter of John, first Lord Paulett. It was later enlarged and beautified by John Hugh Smyth Pigott.
