Brooke Blacksmiths.

A Memory of Brooke.

My uncle John Cossey was the Blacksmith from the 1930s to the 1980s. When he retired nobody else took over the shop. It has stood empty ever since. When I came out from the primary school, which is on the opposite side of the road, each afternoon; I would stand in his yard watching him shoeing horses or making things like wrought iron gates. He died in Alpington nursing home about 10 years ago.

I drove around Norfolk a while ago and very much liked brooke, it seemed a lovely place with a lovely church. I am going to be moving to the area next year because I like it that much
