Caption for Buckland St Mary, The Post Office C1960
The Market Square 1907
The tour of southern Somerset
concludes in Ilminster. The name means
minster or church near the River Isle.
The town, now more peaceful since the
A303 bypass was completed, is mostly
built in the warm golden Ham stone
with Georgian and 19th-century
frontages. Here we look down East
Street towards the Market Hall; Silver
Street is beyond, and the church tower
can be glimpsed to the right.
Frith photos are now available printed direct onto made-to-measure window blinds and available in either a semi-transparent or blackout fabric finish and fully customisable to fit your window and decor at home.
