I went to st Phillips from about 1947 till 1951 Mr Gee was headmaster and Miss Harris was principal. I now live in Perth Australia after living 17 years in Africa I was KATHLEEN DIBB NOW KAY FITT
Burley Woodhead. We lived in Shotover from my birth in 1942 until approx 1957. My parents moved into the house and the village 1939. When my brother Roger was born in Bingley in 1946 I remember picking him up, and bringing him home. We lived my Dad (Roly Inman) Mum (Topsy Inman) with me Michael, and Roger in Shotover up the rough lane off the road by the grass triangle and near the school. I remember Miss Swithenbank who used to teach and lived in the row of stone cottages near the Hermit pub. We used to call on her and she taught me ! At this time (1950) I became a pupil at the above school. The playground was truly superb and it has very recently become a permanent green space for the use of the village. This ground has in it a ha-ha and we younsters (I was 9) used to pretend that it was a shelter to protect us from arrows and spears being hurled at us from the fort (school).
