The White Horse, Cherhill

At one time a favourite place for picnics. Can anyone remember when the RAF lads tipped tins of paint over the white horse turning it red, white and blue?

RE: RE: The White Horse, Cherhill

I think it was in about 1948/50 when the RAF lads from Yatesbury Camp carried out the deed "on a dark and dreary night"! I can remember the stir it caused.
