More about this scene

This is a comparatively modern scene in the High Street, showing two-way traffic and a variety of cars. This picture clearly shows how the shop fronts were added on to the fronts of the houses, when the town grew in size to warrant more shops to cater for the needs of a larger population. At the top is the junction of Heatcote Road and Park Road.
