More about this scene

Mention Catterick to most people and they will immediately think of the great army garrison, which is actually situated four miles from the village itself. The camp was recommended by Lord Baden Powell in 1911, and since then, thousands of 'squaddies' have passed through. This is a view of the Games Room in the Sandes Soldiers' Home.

Sparked a Memory for you?

If this has sparked a memory, why not share it here?

I spent many a happy hour playing table tennis, snooker and swimming, seems like yesterday. The top board of the swimming pool always seemed so high.
I learned the game of snooker here as a young lad. My father was based in Catterick. I also learned to swim at the pool there.
