Memories of Cefn Fforest
I am the youngest child of Thomas the milk and delivered milk on horse and cart from age 11 for 3 years and then went modern when the horse died. I remember Alastair Macsorley, his mum and the rest of the family, they lived opposite our dairy in Penybryn Avenue, after they moved Mr and Mrs Roper moved into their house, next door to Doll and Id Jones. My parents had a bungalow built on a piece of our land, we moved in 1959. I am still working in Cefn Fforest Primary School, please get in touch, Alastair would love to hear from you again. Cefn Fforest has only changed a little, Park and Showfield still the same, Bethany Baptist Chapel is still there. I am still in touch with Roy Smith who took over some of our milk round, he's living in Cornwall.

RE: RE: Memories of Cefn Fforest
I was born and bred in Cefn Fforest and left the district in 1966 and am now married with three children living in N Ireland. I can remember Thomas the milk and also Pugh the milk. I still keep in touch with some friends in the district by e-mail. The last time I was in the area I went to see St Sannans Church and was appalled that it had been whitewashed. I think that it has spoiled the look of the outsiide of the church. I still have relatives within Cefn Fforest. My father played football for Fairview Rangers back in the late 50's.

RE: RE: Memories of Cefn Fforest
I lived in Cefn Fforest until my parents moved to Fleur de Lys. We lived at 16 Bedwellty Road and I remember listening to the men singing in The Blue Men´s Club behind our house on Saturday nights. Graham Sheppard lived a few doors down and his sister, Leila, married my brother Bill. I now live in Puerto Morelos in Mexico and last year Graham and I met here for the first time in 40 years. I was in Cefn Fforest about 11 years ago, but didn´t know anyone then, but it was an incredible feeling to see the village and how little it had changed.
