I was in a children's home for a very short time in the summer of 1946. Does anyone have any infomation? I believe it was called The Lantern.

RE: RE: Children's Home

The children's home was called Lantern House, my two sisters and myself were there from 1964 to 1975/1976. At that time it housed about 15 children of both sexes. It was run by KCC and the lady in charge at the beginning was called Aunty Olive. It was phased out as a children's home and is now an old peoples home - the name has also changed and is now called Charing Court.
