My father Thomas William Wright was born in Vineyard Street in 1918, can anyone remember the Wright family there? Other siblings were Mable, Gwen and Jack. Thomas's parents were Thomas and Maud (Evans) Wright.

My mother was born and raised in Winchcombe. Her parents the Osbornes lived on Gretton Road. We lived across the street from them in the early 1970s while my father was away during the Vietnam War. I have very fond memories of the local primary school(?), Ginnie the donkey, walking to church every Sunday with my friend (?) and Mrs Mason's sweet shop on North Street, riding to Pates Junior School in Cheltenham on the double decker. I also remember the Banks. Fred Banks I believe presides over the annual flower show. I'm glad I found this site ... it really brings back some good memories.

Winchcombe Congregational Church

I would be very interested to obtain pictures / photographs of the Congregational Church and The Abbey house. My grandfather Henry W Florance was a minister of the Congregational church from 1900 - 1906. According to 1901 census he lived at Abbey Houses. My late father was born there along with twin brothers.

Grandparent's Home

Hi, I was hoping some one could help me? I am doing my family history and have come across a photo of my mother's brother taken on Cleeve Hill,  Cheltenham, the address on the picture is as follows: THE COTTAGE C/O FAIRFIELDS EST CLEEVE HILL NEAR CHELTENHAM GLOS. The photo was taken about 1932/3. They lived at this cottage and I've tried so hard to find this estate, their name was ELLA & FRANK HALL but I have been unable to find anything, can any one help to point me in the right direction please? Thanks so much, Debbie

Cosy Corner Tea Lawns

I've been doing a history project and have recently disovered that some of my family once owned a place called Cosy Corner Tea Lawns. If anyone knows anything else about this place could they please share it with me. Thank you.

Cosy Corner Tea Rooms

Members of my family were owners of the tea rooms at Cleeve Hill and had connections with the golf club there too. We may have some family connections. I have been to visit the area for family history research but could not find the tea rooms / house. I think it was opposite the Cleeve Hill Hotel. Do you have any more info about the tea rooms that might help?

Greet

There is an old tumbled down cottage off Market Lane in Greet. It is listed on the 1815 Sudeley Tenements map. We know the Wixey Family lived there until about 1957 and then before them the Fisher fanily from the mid 1930's. We would love to find photos of this old house and the local area.
