Chickenley Hall
Hello. My father lived at Chickenley Hall in the 1940s as he was adopted and brought to the home by the Armitage family. He eventually came to Scarborough, North Yorkshire and has started to write his memoirs which are still in production. What's been written so far has been put onto Facebook by myself. Anyone who would like to help with any info, please feel free to contact me.

RE: RE: Chickenley Hall
My mother, now in her 90s, is a Stephenson - from the family that owned Chickenley Hall. She heard stories about life there before WWI, but never visited the Hall, which was badly damaged by Belgian refugees in WWI, and afterwards let. I'm interested in hearing anyone's memories of the physical appearance of the Hall (inside or out) before it was demolished, as we have no photographs.
Mr. Steve Armitage's father might be able to remember something, if he lived at the Hall in the 1940s. All that my mother remembers hearing about the physical appearance of the interior is that Edward VII admired one of the ceilings. Who knows if Edward VII - who did visit Yorkshire - was ever near the place ?
Anyone with any memories of the Hall building itself ?
