Cholderton Post Office
I spoke to my Dad last night to share what I found on Cholderton. He grew up in the Cholderton Post Office building in the 20's. He also lived in the cottages in the laneway that leads to St. Nicholas Church. He described it to a tee and was very excited. His name is Cyril Jenkinson and his parents were Edith and Wilfrid Jenkinson. They ran the post office for many years.

RE: RE: Cholderton Post Office
Yes the photo of the store is also the post office and residence behind.
Wilfred James and Edith (nee Pottrell) live within and ran the store, post office and telephone switching station for the village until roughly 1947 following the death of Wilfred who was buried in the St. Nicholas Church grounds. Beatrice Jenkinson a strong supported of the village and church lived in the village until late 1980's. Seems to me also, I think it was perhaps Margaret Jenkinson was a secretary for the church for a period and an artist upon which she had many charcoal sketches proudly displayed of the village in the church for decades. Anyone that might be able to add some additional history here would be grately appreciated.
