I recall the post office very well. When I was about twelve, I lived just the other side of the A6 cross roads, so my visits were frequent as this was very much nearer than Maulden post office. I think I’m right in saying that the two ladies who managed the shop were a Ms Vernon and Ms Graham. This is where I live, it is no longer a village post office. It was built in 1680, and we are returning it to a residential property.
