Leek Street, Collyhurst

A Memory of Collyhurst.

I lived in Leek Street from 1952 until the houses were knocked down , we moved to Moston in 1968. There were 4 of us children and our parents in a tiny terraced house. We had a back yard with an outside toilet and only a cold tap in the kitchen. Later on we did have a geyser by the kitchen sink which provided hot water.
I have never found any photos of Leek Street at all ,even in the Manchester Archives. Would love to see it again.
We lived opposite a corner shop and on one side was Phelan Street. It was a tiny shop selling milk ,bread the usual sweets etc and it was run by a lady called Nellie. She was one of four sisters who incidentally lived right next door to us. There was also a Croft just across diagonally from our house, probably there because of WW2 bomb damage.
Our name was Goddard the ladies next door were Davenport and there was a good friend of my mothers' called Mrs Jackson who lived a couple of doors down. She had sons called Phillip ,Peter and Barry.
My family were as follows Dad Norman Goddard, Mum Evelyn, Irene, Anne (me) John and Jean.
Anyone at all remember Leek Street or the shop? or have any photos of Leek Street?
