Looking For Family. Collyhurst 1946
A Memory of Collyhurst.
I am looking for any information about my grandparents. I recently found out that my Mum, Patricia was adopted by my grandad, and there is no father's name on her birth certificate, only my nana's, Sarah Gorman (Sally). Sally lived at 1 Westmoreland Street, Harpurhey and she gave birth to my mum at 21 Collyhurst Buildings on 4th Nov 1946. I am not sure why she was born there and who lived there. Sally went on to marry Alfred Howarth in 1949, he adopted my mum and they moved to Northern Moor. My Mum died at an early age, I have no living relatives who can help me with this, and I would love to know who her biological Father was. There was talk when I was young about an American or French Canadian serviceman involved, but I have no name for him. Any information at all would be fantastic.
