Lost Familey

A Memory of Collyhurst.

hi there,
my parents allso lived in collyhurst,
were they owned there house and coalyard,
there names were loretta and charles wood,
they sold the house and bought a house in blacley(13 old road)
but my dad drove daily back to the coal yard,
my elder brother tony got burnt and died at a very younge age,1964
and then approx 8 months after this,my farther died 1965,
i have no clue about my farthers side and would love to find out if any are still living,
maybe you know of them,
my name is mr christopher(chris)alexander wood,middle name was my uncles name alex from what i was told,
but sadley allso told he died in his 30s due to illness,
as i was only2 years and a few days old,i have little memorie of this apart from snipits have been told over the years,
from blackley after there deaths,
we moved up hillingdon drive near the four ways picture house,
were my mum remarried and had another child, we then became grainge,
my new dads name was david james grainge,and from what i can recall,my mum added the i into grainge ??
any info that could help me build a better picture and possibley meet unknown familey members would be greatfully recieved,

Hi there having just lost my dad Peter wood the eldest son of Charlie wood I've been looking at what I find on my late grandma and grandad my grandma was Doris wood maiden name banks I was so glad to see this my grandfather was Charles he fought in the second world war with the east links regiment my name is Tina wood
I lived in forest St I think Charlie's old house my mum dad were homeless Charlie gave dad a job with my uncle on the coal round I used to play in yard sometimes when 5 years old ish remember he used to get tatty pie for r dinner .the dogs from yard used to sleep in my bed butch the stafie n think a collie n Alsatian in yard . He gave me his old army blanket s they just been thrown after 60 years don't make blankets or people as good as them thease days thanks Charlie whyr xx
I think you will remember his brothers aswell Albert and arther wood and his sister Louisa who used to bake all the cakes?
Think heard Bert was very young . I remember watching them bag in coal up for uncle walter n dad to deliver n steel cup n them brewing tea on fire in shed x
