Pioneer Laundry Crosby

A Memory of Crosby.

Hi
I'm looking for info from anyone who might remember James McComb who ran the Pioneer Laundry in Endbutt Lane. I'm doing some family tree tracing!
Thanks
Liz

Oddly I came across a rather old Post Card used as a book marker in a book I was restoring published in 1933. The Post Card is a pre-addressed card addressed to "The Manageress, The Pioneer Laundry. Telephone Crosby 765. The address on the other side includes Endbutt Lane, GT. Crosby, Liverpool. I will try to include a photograph of each side. I would love to know a bit more about the laundry's history. The little drawing on the card suggests it was being used in the 1920's.
Liz - I should have at least given my name - Kevin Bettany. I am retired and live in Stoke-on-Trent
Hello Liz. My father-in-law was Malcolm McCombe, the son of James. Malcolm was part of the family business until he left for Canada in 1968. I'm not sure what sort of information you are looking for but my wife might have the answers to a few questions. I think James' daughter still lives in the area but we're not in touch.
Hi Liz, Kevin, bjackson.
My name is Don McCombe and my grandfather was Mr Donald McCombe who with his wife Ita McCombe where the last family members to own the Laundry. My Grandparents had four children Michael, Virginia, Barry & Peter, My Father was Mike who was also involved with the Meserysippi jazz band, Unfortunately Mike died a few years ago but my mother still survives and used to be employed at the laundry. I am more than happy to give more information if anyone is interested Regards Don
