Post Office
The old post office in the picture once belonged to my family, as did the the farm that once stood to the left of the old post office. I spent the first 18 years of my life growing up in Marloes. It's a lovely place to visit as it's steeped in history, from Henry Tudor to WW2, also the heritage of the Kensington family and the Kensington estate of St Brides. Marloes is outlined with some of Wales's most beautiful coastlines, with world famous islands such as Skomer with its seals, choughs and puffins. And not forgeting Marloes sands where in the summer of 2011 a Hhollywood movie was filmed. (Its not the first time). Yours, L
Where I Grew up
Well, I grew up in Havens Head, it's a lovely quiet place, there is loads of wildlife like foxes and squirrels, badgers loads of wild birds, and there is a lovely footpath where you can look over the lake and that leads to the docks and the marina.
School Swimming Sports
I used to live at No 6 Concrete Houses just over at the end of the wrath. I lived there for around 7 years from when I was born in 1969. It used to cost 2p to get in but sometimes we used to climb over the wall. I did swim in the pool during the summer sports. Steven Moxi and Jason Thomas were my friends from the pill.
GELLYSWICK BEACH
I remember playing with my brothers and chucking the seaweed about on the beach.
SEA WALL
I'm not sure when, but my dad helped build the sea wall and a load of my family are from Hakin and Milford. Does anyone remember Rabiotti's Restaurant? It was my uncle's.
Bath House
I would like a photo of the old Bath House at Neyland. If anyone has any old pictures which I could have copies from I would be grateful. garry.thomas@talk21.com Garry Thomas
From The 1950s on
I moved to Hundleton in the 1950s and spent all my childhood in and around, living at Belmont then Quiot's Hill before living for a while in Gilead, then back to River View. As the years passed my love for Freshwater West grew but due to the lack of work then I moved away and to this day regret doing so. We used to spend time at the rope swing at the top of the 'old hill,' in the woods near Monkton, biking to Fresh or Angle was never a problem. I try everytime I come home to make a trip to Fresh first on my list of thing to do, unlike Hundleton the best beach in my world hasn't changed.
