St Joseph's Home Carmel Road Darlington
My name is ANN ROY - I was in St Joseph's home from 1948 - 1958 and would love to hear from anyone who was in the home at that time or has any information/details/memories of that time. I am especially looking for KATHLEEN BRENNAN, MARY RICHARDSON, an older girl RACHEL CARTER (perhaps moved to London at some point). I am already in touch with ALICE FRANCIS (now in USA), ANN McCORMACK (Canada).

Woud you know of a family called the Conors or anyone who would? It goes back to the 1900s so I don't hold out much hope? Thanks.

RE: RE: St Joseph's Home, Carmel Road, Darlington
My mother-in-law was Mary Guthrie and was in the home from 1924 until 1938, she is 90 next week but sadly she doesn't remember the Connor family. She often reminisces about the home and when the girls from Spain arrived and she remembers the nuns' names etc so it's sad she can't help you. Sometimes I feel I am walking the corridor with her, her memories are so clear!! Good luck
