Eerie Sighting

I have no connection with Deddington, it was just a place I passed through while driving from Swindon where I used to live to Towcester where I worked and have since relocated to. I remember it was early morning dark and foggy, I was driving from the direction of Chipping Norton towards the traffic lights at the crossroads which I think is called the Horse Fair or something like that. Somewhere between the fish and chip shop and the lights I looked to the right and saw what I can only describe as a large very old Tudor house, the kind that has light coloured walls and old wooden beams. I remember thinking how lovely it looked but so out of place. This memory is to this day very clear in my mind. I must have driven this route many, many times since then and although I know this house is not there I still cannot pass this spot without looking for this old house, all I see is fairly modern houses. Yes it was dark and yes it was foggy and I may have been tired but I will always believe that the house I saw that night was as real as the houses that stand there today.

RE: RE: Eerie Sighting

This is an odd tale but was it "early morning dark and foggy" or "the house I saw that night" !!!!

Morning or Night ?? Hmmm!!!

RE: RE: Eerie Sighting

Morning or night? Hmm! I told this story as I remembred it, I guess if I had to change any words I used, then I would remove the word Tudor. The house I saw that night was about the length of three or four terraced houses, not as high but quite a long building. No memories of the roof but lots of exposed beams set in the walls, it was obviously hundreds of years old. I remember thinking how odd that I had never seen this house before. I still drive this route, and I still turn my head every time I pass this spot and I still see nothing that could explain what I saw that night, it was winter time, it was dark and it was foggy. It would have been about 5.30am so night or morning, who cares. The story is a fact, it happened to me and is something I think about often. I guess my hope was someone might get in touch and say there used to be a very old house that stood around this spot, but nothing. Any other comments would be interesting to hear.
