RE: RE: Restall's Store
Dear Sir or Madam,
We have this postcard at home. My mother, in those days a Dutch girl of 18 years old, stayed in 1959 at Denmead as an au-pair. After this time she starts her study English at the university.
She walked in 1959 with the children of the family she stayed with often in the streets and then bought some groceries in the shop who was also a post-office in those days. She stayed at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Bullock, Elisabeth and David. Mr. Bullock was a marine-officer.
My mother baptised in that year the first HOVERCRAFT with a bottle of champagne.
Maybe some people in England have some photos of this important event.
She would love it! She is now 70 years old and she often remembers the good times overthere!
Maybe some people in Denmead or England do remember the Bullocks. According her last memory she got a letter from Mr. and Mrs. Bullock when my brother was born in 1972. They wrote to her they had plans to emigrate to Australia. Maybe some of you know something about this family or know any relatives with this name. It would be a great pleasure for us. The couple had 3 children; Christopher, Coralie and Catharine.
We would appreciate any help from you, any information about the family Bullock is very welcome!!
Thanks a lot in advance!
Best regards,
Sandra and Peter Faling
