Thomas Tench
I have a copy of my Grandfather's Naval records and it shows he served on the Royal Adelaide in 1887 as a B1C(whatever that means). His name was Thomas Tench. As I have never seen a photo of him I keep hoping a crew photo from one of his ships will turn up. This was his second posting.

RE: RE: Thomas Tench
My Devonshire grandfather George Edwin Webber was on HMS 'Impregnable' from April 21st 1886 to 25th November 1886 before moving to the 'Royal Adelaide' 26th Nov to 11th December 1886. He is also listed as 'BIC'. I assume these were both training ships as his next listing is as 'Ord' which must be ordinary seaman. Unfortunately, I cannot read the name of the next ship properly, but think it could be 'Minotaur'.
