Was Caddy's ice cream parlour on a corner near the market? Can anybody tell me?

Caddys was rond the corner from Boots, then turn left into a ginnel in an area which is now a small shopping precinct.I can't remember the streets,

eddieallsopp, you are correct. I believe it was called Tithe Barn Street, or it was on the corner of Tithe Barn St and another road (the name of which I don't remember. I think it's the service road for the back of the precinct you've described. Cheers!
I recall caddies had teaspoons with a straight edge to them, loved the treat times at Caddies
