The Grants

A Memory of Dufftown.

The Grant family were prominent in Dufftown, residing in Amulree Conval Street.
Peter Grant who was Dufftown's master baker, appears to be the name that continued the family name until he died in 1930

Peter Grant was my Great Grandfather and I stayed many summer and Easter holidays at Amulree as a child, by that time the cottage had passed to his grand daughter Nettie who was my Aunt. When she passed away in the 90's sadly Amulree was sold after 100 years of being in the family. Peter Grant built it and I believe the cottage on the corner of Conval St too. So many memories of that wee place and being in Dufftown as a child on holiday.
