I started at St Anne's in 1970, in Upper Transition and left in 1979 after taking my O levels. I took my A levels at Richmond upon Thames College. My first teacher at St Anne's was Sister Mary Joseph. My least favourite teacher was Sister Mary Margaret who I had in Prep 3 and my favourite was Miss Clayton, the maths teacher in senior school.

I will never forget the school lunches (which were almost inedible), spreading the potato (made from Smash) around my plate to make it appear that I had eaten everything; if I was lucky I wasn't caught scraping the leftovers into the bin, on more than one occasion I was sent back to the table to finish my lunch!
Some other memories:
The annual St Patrick's day netball match between Ireland and England;
Having to wear my school hat when Miss Kay (Latin and classics teacher) and I were on the same train home;
At the end of the school year cleaning our desks with wire-wool and polishing them with beeswax.
Hello Denise, I was at St. Anne's Convent from 1968-1972. I well remember the wire wool and beeswax polishing of desks at the end of term. I also recall Sister Anne Marie (SAM), Sister Philomena (pretty scary), Headmistress Sister Stanislaus and Sister Denise (who I believe later ran off with a priest!). You are right, the meals were awful. Lots of spam and tinned tomatoes. Miss Clayton I remember very well too. She was also a teacher at my primary school (Our Lady of the Visitation in Greenford). And the netball matches between England and Ireland, memories!! Strangely enough, I have been thinking about those school days very recently and then saw your comments. Regards. Christine
I attended St Anne's from 1958 to 63. I have found a photo of six of the nuns with Dusty Springfield. Don't know how to post on this forum, but if anyone wants a copy, email me on suz.asquith@gmail.com
I was also at St Anne's Convent. I started school in the kindergarden in 1968 and remember all the things mentioned. My name is Isabella Peralta....now Crick.
