Knights Toy Shop Green Street E13
A Memory of East Ham.
Would be interested to know if anyone remembered Knights toys that opened in Green Street in the early 80's. It was a double fronted shop on Tesco's side of the road and was something to do with Mark for toys in East Ham high street E6. It wasn't there for very long though. I remember going in there with my mum and noticing that there didn't seem to be enough toys to fill such a large shop.

The shop you are referring to in Green Street was actually called ‘Cavalier’ - (a knight :) ) and was indeed opened by my Dad, Mark Davis ( as in Mark for Toys) in around 1982. The store was previously the Marks and Spencer’s.
Unfortunately as you spotted it was a very large store and was under resourced so only lasted about a year, though Mark for Toys in East Ham stayed open for another decade until my parents retired.
You may remember it had a West Ham United ‘concession’ in the store, which was very unusual if not unique and Trevor Brooking was star guest at the official opening.
I have a couple of photos of that lovely day.
