I lived on Parrin Lane in the early 1960s.  My parents had a shop that sold bags of coal and hardware and fancy goods - S & D Hodsons.

RE: RE: Parrin Lane

I remember your shop and also Hoptons the butchers, the Co-op and Smiths cake shop. I lived in Anson Street.

RE: RE: Parrin Lane

I grew up on Parrin Lane 1962 to 1974. I remember the Old Brown Cow at the Winton end top with the bakery on the corner, Parrs sweet shop, the cobblers shop on its own where the motorway wall is now, we used to get a new pair of plastic sandals every summer from there. We always played football on Westwood Park School field by climbing the fence, and would climb trees in "The orchard", now the motorway.
