New Life
This is the pub we went and trained in and from there we got our life back on track.
Parndon Hall School
I attended school at Parndon Hall, then referred to as Kinsmoor School, in 1956 when I was 13. I have a photo that I took of it at that time. We were only there for a few terms before the students were moved to Fedsden School in Roydon. I remember Mrs. Clare was the headmistress and the school sponsored students from France. I remember finding old stone arrow heads on the property. If anyone would like a copy of the photograph I took of the house I would be happy to email it at no charge.
Fedsden School/Parndon Hall
I also went to Fedsden at Parndon Hall, but quite a bit later (around 1963), as a boarder. Great happy memories of this place. Remember Mrs Clare very well and though she seemed a bit severe I liked her a lot. Fabulous old house with painted ceilings, rambling old grounds and woods, and outside ramshackle buildings used for domestic science and woodwork. Happy, happy days :)
Eyes
I attended the junior school, but slept at the senior school. I have wonderful memories, especially of the eyes of the paintings that followed one if one wanted to go to the loo at night.
The Pond
This is an approximate date, my brother was placed in a boarding school when he was very young. We would travel there at weekends. The pond was very near the big white building he was staying in.
1977-1996
Hi, I am Adam. I moved to Nazeing in 1977, aged 3 years old, with my mum and dad. We moved down from Harlow, to be nearer my grandparents. I went to Nazeing Primary School and so did my younger sister Joanne, born 1979. She also went to Nazeing Primary School. Then I went to Cardinal Bourne in Broxbourne 3 years later. Joanne went to Mark Hall in Harlow. I spent a lot of time around the rivers and lakes and took up fishing. After leaveing school I worked as a grade 3 semi-skilled glass maker at Nazeing Glass Works from 1991 until 1999, when I was made redundant.
After my parents divorced I moved to Stevenage with my mum. If i could move back to Nazeing I would, it is a very pleasent area and I loved being around the rivers and lakes. I was also a member of a fishing club in Nursery Road for 6 years.
