My Father Visited A Leversuch Family in Eversley

Warbrook Lane 1908
Enlarge photo |  More about this photo

I have no personal memories of Eversley but my father Percy Norman Pearson born 1910, who died 2003, talked fondly of holidays spent in Eversley with an aunt whose surname was Leversuch when he was a child/young man. He was living in Southampton at the time.

I have just started researching my family tree so am intrigued to find out more about Eversley and whether there are any people called Leversuch who might be able to shed any light. I could not find Leversuch as one of our family names though I have just discovered that my great great grandmother's sister Grace Burtt Pain married a James Leversuch. He was born c1807 and I wondered if one of his relatives was the aunt my father referred to.

Anyway this is a long shot but just thought I would try. Many thanks, Jan Pearson

RE: RE: My Father Visited A Leversuch Family in Eversley

Hello Jan

I was idly surfing the net for references to Leversuch (my maiden name) as I was interested in doing some work on our family tree and I came across your post! I can tell you that my Grandad, Ernest Eric Leversuch, was born in Eversley (1922) and as I understand it there were quite a few Leversuch's in the village around that time. My Dad has done some work on the family tree in the past and my Grandad knows lots of names from around that time - I can't elaborate much more at the moment until I make some more enquiries but thought I would just let you know that you might have a lead to your long lost Aunt.

Hope to hear from you

RE: RE: My Father Visited A Leversuch Family in Eversley

Hi Jan

Did you send me a reply to my post of 27/9/06? I received an e-mail saying you had, but when I logged onto the site there were no messages in my In box - so a little confused! If you had replied do you think you could send it again?

Thanks very much

Tracy

RE: RE: My Father Visited A Leversuch Family in Eversley

Hi Tracy I have replied twice but both seem to have disappeared into the ether so can't resend!

Anyway, since I posted my original message amazingly via another route I have made contact with a second cousin called Leversuch connected to my line of Wiltshire Kellows from 1870s. She actually lived at New Farm in Eversley which my father visited (before her time!)

It would great to hear from you if your Grandad or Dad has any more information. My grandmother Florence Gertrude Pearson (nee Kellow) born 1878 had lots of cousins called Leversuch.

If we could exchange email addresses it would be easier to continue this dialogue. Not sure if this is possible. Best wishes, Jan
